It is hard to believe that in 4 days its officially the start of spring. I currently have to navigate through piles of snow on the street and pray i dont turn into a snowman myself. Not funny! I am dreaming of the day i can banish my snow boots to the far end of my closet and show off my new spring flats. But regardless of the current weather status i am still looking forward to curating the perfect wardrobe for an easy and effortless transition from winter to spring. Here are some of the trends and must haves you need in order to to nail that spring look!
Spring Wardrobe Essentials you need in your closet
1. Classic Trench
Every woman needs a classic trench. Period. The neutral beige color is the most classic one, similar the the famous burberry trench coat. However you dont have to break your bank for that, there are plenty of trench coats in the $80-$200 range. It’s the perfect outerwear for those rainy april days and when you do need something to keep you protected yet chic at the same time.
2. Denim Jacket
A denim jacket is a great layering piece for spring. Go for a suede, white or faux leather if you want to change up this essential piece of your wardrobe. I love how a denim jacket looks over a dress or a simple tshirt to give it that extra pop.
3. Light sweater
Don’t get fooled by the sun in the spring, it can still be quiet chilly outside. For that you have the light sweater. I love sweaters which have an interesting detail, such as a ruffle or stripes like this sweater or this one, so when you take off your coat your outfit still looks complete.
4. Shirt Dress
Probably my favorite trend this year is the shirt dress. It takes a classic piece to a whole other level. I love this bright pink colored shirt dress that you can layer with a trench, denim jacket or simple cardigan. A shirt dress always looks chic and takes you from work to lunch date to date night.
5. Midi skirt
Now that you can finally stop hiding your outfit under a big puffy coat its time to pull out your favorite skirt. Midi skirts are so on trend all year round but i feel like spring is the perfect season for it. I love this J.crew skirt which you can pair with a sweater or a white shirt.
Spring is all about less is more. Less makeup, less layers, less fabric. Flats make everything look a bit more carefree. Often it’s not warm enough for sandals, but nobody wants to go back to the boots, so my flats get a lot of wear at this time of year.
7. Structured Handbag
Vibrant accessories leads the pack this spring with pop-color pumps, cross-body bags, and colorful shades. I like to incorporate color in my handbag. And after using your everyday bag a whole winter season it is time for a new one! Structured handbags are definitely trending this season, more so, mini versions of popular handbags. I love this handbag from aldo, in general aldo has some really great handbags that are not that expensive.
8. Statement Earrings
My favorite piece of jewelry are earrings, i have a whole collection by now and i always jump to the opportunity to buy myself a new pair for the new season. Statment earrings are great for the spring to bring some color to your look. These Baubelebar earring are so fun they will sure keep a smile on your face all day long.
