The Magic Five: 5 Products for a flawless ‘five-minute’ Face

five minute face

As much as i love makeup i do not have time to prep and primp my face for 30 minutes everyday. I had to learn to get out the door in the morning as fast as superwoman would. Between getting my son dressed, serving breakfast, gathering his stuff, handling some tantrum and me getting ready there is exactly 5 minutes for me to spend on my face. So i had to size down to the most important products that will make me look presentable.  Here is what i lean on when i am three snooze buttons late, or just don’t feel like busting out a six-step contour palette.

5 Products for a flawless ‘five-minute’ Face

Step One

I never apply foundation all over my face. I use it just on my T-zone to even out my skintone. My all time favorite base is Clarins everlasting foundation. It is a high coverage base which lets me skip concealer if i dont have time. I use a foundation brush and swiftly cover my forehead, nose and chin area. Done.

Step Two

Since i have very fair skin i use bronzer to give my face a fresh look. I used to not be a fan of bronzer after looking too orange but i found the absolute best one out there. Estee lauder Bronze Goddess bronzer is red based which wont give you that ‘bronzer-gone-wrong’ look. I feel like it will also hide pimples and imperfections more. I use it all over my face.

Step Three

To give myself a smokey eye in literally 3 seconds, i use the Estee lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil which i then smudge with my fingers or with the smudger at the other end of the pencil. I use the color Onyx which as a bit of shimmer as well so its perfect for a all-in-one subtle smokey eye.

Step Four

When it comes to mascara i am very picky. I would highly recommend the estee lauder double wear mascara, it is one of the best ones out there, i promise! In the past, i have tried so many but i always go back to this one. It does everything you want in one swipe.

Step Five

Lastly, i am not a girl who can just swipe some lipbalm and still look fresh. Moreover, if i dont have color on my lips i look like i am sick or something. So lipstick is pretty important for me to look fresh and ready. L’oreals color riche number 620, called juilanne’s nude is the perfect everyday lipstick. I buy it at the drugstore for 6$ and keep on buying it when i finish it. It comes in a subtle pink with a creamy finish and always completes my face.

A final note

If you do need to use certain products like concealer or powder then look for products that have two in one system to save yourself time. Or if you are really running late leave certain things for on the go, like powder or lipstick. Another trick i learned, is i fill in my brows the night before. Since i have thick brows and really need to shape and tame them i do it after my night routine and i found it still being in place when waking up.

That L’Oreal lipstick is seriously gorgeous!! I totally feel you on the five minutes. I use a nude inner rim eyeliner and it seriously does wonders, even if I have only one minute to get ready!! xx Shannon

I always enjoy posts like these, getting to see which make-up products others use. As for my 5 min face I like to use BB cream with mascara. xo, Emily (SCsister)

Love this! I know what you mean, I get 3 little ones ready to school so not a lot of time to get myself ready. Bronzer and mascara are my best friends lol. Great tips!

Great post! I might take your advice to shape my brows the night before! They take the most time!

I too love a simple 5 minute face! Although I wish I could be as selective as you with where my foundation goes!

Honestly, bronzer is everything. I could have just brows and bronzer and I could seriously be all set!!!
