Is your skin dry and dull? Here is what you should try

dry skin

Hey Ladies

I wont be surprised if you are struggling with dry skin, especially at this time of the year, where we need extra care to maintain our skin hydrated and healthy. I always feel like winter is the time when you really pay attention to your skin; the dryness and cold air always makes people pack on layers of cream and what not. So to revive my dry skin back to health, i reach for these few products and methods. just for the record, I have really oily skin most of the time, however i do get dry patches in the winter which makes my fundation look flaky, and who likes that?!

How to prevent dry skin and have glowing complexion in the winter

Moisturize on damp skin

Applying moisturizer is a must when fighting dry skin. In addition, applying moisturizer on damp skin is much better than applying moisturizer on dry skin. Why? Because your pores are more open (especially after a hot steamy shower) so all the cream that you apply on to your damp skin sinks deeper into the skin than they normally would which will have a much greater and much better effect on your skin. However, be careful not to overdo it, don’t just grab the most oiliest cream possible. Read the ingredients carefully, so you don’t wake up with a handful of blackheads and pimples.
My favorite moisturizers are:
PX prescriptives Vibrant C Moisurizer
Darphin Illuminating Oil-Cream
Pixi Beauty Glowtion Day Dew

As you can see i try to use non greasy products that absorb quickly & leave my skin hydrated and refreshed.

Use a hydrating mask

Face masks are a great way to pamper your skin to the max. When you find the right one it can truly work wonders. Moreover, a hydrating face mask is an even great way to add moisture back into the skin. I’ve been loving the Korres wild rose instant brighting and illuminating maskbecause it really healed one of my dry patches on my skin. In addition i absolulty love The body shop british rose fresh plumping maskit smells divine and is very effective.

Don’t forget a serum

I think all of us suffer to get that that fresh glowy skin when winter shows it’s face! Serums are exactly what you need to achieve that. They are a very light usually clear liquid that absorbs into your skin right away and are packed full of great ingredients. I religiously use Darphin illuminating oil serum It smells so fruity and knowing it’s all natural is such an added bonus and Onomi Priming Serum

Try a face mist

Know that feeling when you are walking on the street and the icy wind is blowing into your face and you feel your skin tighten and getting all frost bitten? Well thats what face mists are for. I am such a huge fan of them. They instantly hydrate and give your skin an extra boost. I use Pixi Glow mist all day everyday! It is enriched with natural oils plus aloevera and fruit extracts whuch gives your skin a glowing, luminous complexion.

There you have it: the not-so-secret way for getting rid of dry and dull skin. Trust me, there are a billion hydrating masks, scrubs and miracle products you could try but when it comes to dry skin, you don’t need all the expensive frills—you just need good, ol’-fashioned moisture.
Is there a product your skin depends on during winter? Let me know what it is down below!

First of all, your blog is gorgeous!

I’ve always had quite sensitive skin, so using brands such as Nivea + Johnson’s really
work for me but The Body Shop mask looks really good.

    Lovely post.
