Almost every woman no matter what age has some kind of skincare issue or struggle, unless your name is Blake Lively or such. But for us normal humans we may battle with blemishes, wrinkles or excessive oil at times, nonetheless thanks to certain products geared for your skin type and a strict routine we can come close to perfection. Here is how
With so many products to choose from, it’s sometimes difficult to find which facial formula works best. Start by getting to know your skin type. Oily, combination, dry or normal. Once you know what your skin is like you can learn to treat it in the best way possible.
Dry skin is flaky, scaly, or rough.
Oily skin is shiny, greasy, and may have big pores.
Combination skin is dry in some areas and oily in others e.g. (forehead, nose, and chin).
Normal skin is balanced, clear, and not sensitive.
Step 1: Cleaning
You don’t need 10 different cleansers or buy some fancy, expensive product that promises a thousand things. Trust me, i have been there. You just need to find skincare that works for you. Choose a simple one that removes the dirt and makeup. I love Clinique liquid facial soap which comes in a pump bottle and it really does a great job at removing all excess oil and makeup. Use plenty of water to rinse your face, best is to use a washcloth to really get all the dirt off. If you find your skin gets irritated in any way, try a different cleanser.
Step 2: Clarifying
A step that is so often skipped. Using a toner after you clean your face preps your skin to be more receptive to hydration and moisturizer. So in order to get the best effect of your product, use a toner like this one before applying. It removes extra oil, makes your face less shiny, and helps to keep your skin clean.
Step 3: Moisturizing
End your routine with applying moisturizer. Depending on your skin type you should choose the best formula possible. Moisturizer blocks the pores and hydrates your skin throughout the day and night. Hydration is essential for healthy, balanced, clear skin no matter the skin type.
Cream Best for drier skin or skins in dry climate
Lotion Best for dry to dry/ combination skin.
Gel Best for oilier skin, or acne prone skin.
All About Acne
Since i am teenager i have been battling breakouts. Now that i am a mom and 23 years old i am still struggling and it’s not fun! So if you are way past your teen years but still have this issue you’re not alone. The warmer months are especially bad for those of us blessed with excessively oily skin, as the added moisture in the air is a recipe for skin disaster. I try to stay clear of any moisturizers and focus on products with salicylic acid. Cleansers that contain glycolic or salicylic acid prevent breakouts, too. Once a week i use a cleansing mask or mud mask to get all that dirt out of my pores. shop some of my favorites here
Needless to say every routine needs a switch here and there. Your regular 3-step skin care system may not be a year-round deal. Season change and climate change will have an effect on your skincare routine.
Now to you: What are your skincare issues? Are you battling with acne? If yes which product stood out to you in that process? Any tips for the best skin possible?
