Today’s guest post is from the lovely Kayla from Kayla’s Five Things. I love her sleek, but informative blog all about style and beauty. We actually ended up exchanging posts, hop on over to check out my guest post How to ace your base
For all of us who sometimes want to have this “straight out of bed but still beautiful” look, this post is for you and Kayla will tell you how to achieve it.
Natural makeup seems to be fading into the background these days. Instead of using make up to enhance our natural beauty, people are caking it on to cover up not just blemishes, but everything else as well! I enjoy a dramatic smokey eye as much as anyone, but for everyday looks, I love a natural look that makes me look like I just rolled out of bed looking like that. You’ll notice that a majority of the products are for the face. This is because having a good foundation (and good foundation) for your look is key in looking put together without looking overly done up. BB cream is a great alternative to foundation especially when you add concealer for spot coverage. Face powder and light blush application help keep the cream from looking too dewy as well as gives your cheeks a natural rosiness. I included brushes, because the right brushes in the right shape and size can make a world of difference! For the eyes, browns and cream colors are best in a matte texture like the ones in this Naked2 Basics’ Palette. You can also swap out your black eyeliner for brown to get a more wide-eyed and brightened feel. Line the eyes on the lids and under, but not inside. Finish it off by curling your eyelashes and applying good, lengthening mascara.Take it easy on the number of layers you do for the mascara so it doesn’t look too spider-leg-like. Top off your look with a natural and hydrating lip balm, like this Orgins’ one in Nude Nectarine. Keeping your skin and lips moisturized is another tip for pulling off this look. If underneath it all you’re face is healthy and glowing, it’ll shine through with this fresh look.
